MFM @ Tech Wildcatters

My Favorite Machine made the short trek from the Aloft to Tech Wildcatters today.  Returning back to this favorite venue, it attracted a lot of attention even before I could get it set up.  And this was just the small weekend crowd.  I’m anxious for it to be seen during one of the many techy gatherings at TWC. What a perfect place to display this tech-expressionist-pop art!.  :-)

  1. This installation looks fantastic Roger, I agree great pairing, with the bust, and oil painting. I would be just like the guy in the photo touching everything..

    • Thanks, Melody. An interesting thing I’ve observed is that while most people feel that touching art is taboo, my sculpture seems to invite touch so much that no one even bothers asking or hesitates. They just reach out and touch it. I am delighted by this since touch is a sense that is totally missing from media today.

When I see those hands reach out, almost by themselves as a reflex without their owners approval and get that touch taste of the bare jagged steel, bumpy concrete, and those embedded objects and have their hands answer their curious minds with, ‘yes its real alright’, I feel like a chef watching hungry people enjoy a meal I have prepared.

My kitchen a hotter than most and you wouldn’t want to eat of the floor. But I’m cooking with gas!
